Aliʻiōlani Hale
Visit the King Kamehameha V Judiciary History Center in Aliʻiōlani Hale, the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi’s capitol building and scene of the proclamation of the overthrow of Hawaiian Monarch Liliʻuokalani in 1893.
The Center’s exhibits and short films interpret Hawaiʻi’s legal history. Temporary exhibits look at the Kingdom’s diplomacy with foreign countries, the Kingdom’s Constitutions, the affects of foreign introduced disease in Hawaiʻi, and history of law pertaining to ‘ōlelo Hawaiʻi (Hawaiian language). We’ll also feature a treasure hunt for keiki to decode a secret message.
